NOTE: Please allow 3 weeks of lead time for shipping online orders

The Kanomax USA Model 6850 Handheld Micromanometer is a high-precision instrument designed for duct traverse, HVAC testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB), and differential pressure measurement. When paired with a Pitot tube, the Model 6850 measures air velocity and calculates volumetric airflow, giving HVAC professionals a portable solution for evaluating airflow conditions throughout duct systems.

The Model 6850 measures differential pressure from -2500 to +2500 Pa and air velocity from 0.2 to 60 m/s, with high resolution for precise field measurements. Differential pressure, air velocity, and airflow can be displayed simultaneously on the color LCD, allowing technicians to quickly evaluate the measurements needed during a duct traverse.

Designed for HVAC Duct Traverse and Airflow Testing

For HVAC technicians performing duct traverses, the Model 6850 simplifies the process of converting velocity pressure measurements into useful air velocity and airflow data. When used with a compatible Pitot tube, the instrument calculates air velocity from measured pressure and can determine volumetric airflow based on the dimensions of the duct.

Users can enter dimensions for either round or rectangular ducts directly into the instrument, allowing the 6850 to calculate airflow from the measured air velocity and duct cross-sectional area. A configurable Pitot factor also allows the instrument to account for the correction factor specified for the Pitot tube being used.

Measure Differential Pressure, Air Velocity, and Airflow

The Model 6850 provides the primary measurements HVAC professionals need when evaluating duct systems with a Pitot tube. Its high-resolution differential pressure measurement capabilities support accurate assessment of relatively small pressure changes, while onboard calculations convert those measurements into air velocity and volumetric airflow.

The instrument supports multiple engineering units, including Pa, inH2O, mmH2O, and mmHg for differential pressure; m/s and ft/min for velocity; and m³/h, CFM, and L/s for airflow. This flexibility makes the 6850 practical for HVAC testing workflows that use either SI or commonly used U.S. measurement units.

Actual and Standard Airflow Measurements

Air velocity can vary with environmental conditions such as temperature and atmospheric pressure. To support more consistent airflow analysis, the Model 6850 provides both actual and standard measurement modes.

Users can enter the current air temperature and atmospheric pressure so the instrument can calculate actual air velocity or convert measurements to standard air conditions. This capability is particularly useful when HVAC airflow measurements need to be compared across changing environmental conditions or documented using standardized values.

Data Logging for HVAC Testing and Balancing

The Model 6850 can store up to 10,000 measurements, helping technicians document multiple test points during duct traverses, system commissioning, and balancing work. Measurements can be organized by test ID, reviewed directly on the instrument, and analyzed using average, minimum, and maximum values.

Stored differential pressure, air velocity, and airflow measurements can also be exported directly to USB storage for further analysis and reporting. This combination of portable measurement and onboard data management makes it easier to maintain organized records when testing multiple ducts, locations, or HVAC systems.

Portable Micromanometer for Field Testing

Weighing approximately 0.79 lb (360 g), the Model 6850 is designed for convenient use throughout commercial, institutional, and industrial HVAC systems. Battery operation provides approximately 15 hours of use, while an optional AC adapter supports extended testing when external power is available.

For HVAC professionals who need to measure differential pressure, perform Pitot tube duct traverses, and calculate air velocity and volumetric airflow with one portable instrument, the Kanomax Model 6850 provides a practical solution for HVAC testing, adjusting, and balancing.
